Ana Lopez is an independent practitioner at Aria Wellness in Scottsdale — and a Licensed Massage Therapist who loves sharing the gift of healing touch. Her work combines myofascial release with therapeutic massage to address tension, restricted movement, and areas of discomfort, while supporting relaxation and improved mobility.
Rather than applying the same pressure or technique to everyone, Ana takes time to understand where the body feels restricted and adjusts each session to the person in front of her — working thoughtfully with the body rather than simply applying more pressure.
Having lived through injury and surgery in her own body, Ana knows firsthand the pain and frustration you may be feeling — and exactly how to help. That experience is what led her to become a massage therapist in the first place.
A graduate of Pima Medical Institute (2009) and a massage instructor, Ana offers the best treatment possible with the care and loyalty you deserve. When you’re on her table, she lets her hands do the work — and invites you to experience the healing power of a truly skilled, professional touch.
Fascia is the connective-tissue network that surrounds and supports muscles, joints, organs, and other structures throughout the body. Because fascia is continuous, tightness in one region can influence posture, movement, and comfort elsewhere. When this tissue becomes restricted, movement may feel limited, and the body often compensates by placing strain on other areas.
Myofascial release is a hands-on technique that uses sustained, targeted pressure and gentle movement to address areas of fascial restriction — reducing tension, encouraging more comfortable movement, and supporting better coordination between the body’s soft tissues.
Most people think about muscles and joints when they consider movement or pain — but fascia plays an equally important role. When it’s hydrated, elastic, and able to glide, movement feels coordinated and efficient. When it becomes tight or disorganized — through inactivity, repetitive movement, injury, stress, or compensation patterns — the body starts to guard and adapt. Over time, those compensations can quietly contribute to stiffness, limited range of motion, postural strain, and discomfort in places that seem unrelated to where the tension began.
That’s why addressing fascia matters. Releasing restriction in one area can ease the whole chain of compensation the body has built around it — helping you move, breathe, and rest with less effort.
Healthy, mobile fascia helps the body:
Restricted fascia vs. hydrated, healthy fascia — the difference myofascial work aims to restore.
Fascia is one of the body’s most overlooked systems — yet it shapes nearly everything: posture, coordination, circulation, and even how the nervous system settles. When it tightens from stress, injury, surgery, or repetitive strain, the effect doesn’t stay put. A single restriction can pull the whole body into patterns of compensation — rounded shoulders, a tilted pelvis, a guarded low back — that ordinary stretching rarely reaches.
This is why skilled myofascial work can feel so different from a standard massage. By addressing the source rather than the symptom, it is increasingly associated with easing chronic tension and back pain, improving blood flow and lymphatic drainage, restoring range of motion, and helping the body return to a more natural, efficient alignment — relief that tends to last longer than surface-level fixes.
Hydration matters — but fascial hydration isn’t achieved by water intake alone. Tissue also needs movement and space for fluid to circulate. When fascia is mobile and elastic, the body moves with less friction; when it loses elasticity and organization, stiffness and compensatory patterns develop. Myofascial techniques are designed to address those restrictions so the tissue can move, glide, and rehydrate more freely.

Gentle abdominal work to ease tension and bloating — a natural companion to Aria’s gut-health care.
Bodywork and colon hydrotherapy work in the same direction — one loosens what’s held in the tissue, the other helps carry it out. Massage and myofascial release stimulate circulation and lymphatic flow, the body’s natural system for moving fluid and waste toward elimination. As fascial restrictions soften, that stored tension and metabolic waste is mobilized — and a colon hydrotherapy session helps flush it from the body rather than letting it settle back in.
Ana’s abdominal work is an especially natural match: releasing restrictions along the digestive tract supports gentler, more regular movement, so the colonic has more to work with. Many clients like to schedule bodywork and a colonic close together — release, then eliminate.
